Keynote: Jim Cumbee

Jim Cumbee is president of Tennessee Valley Group, Inc, the only lawyer led business brokerage and transition mediation firm in Tennessee. His firm helps business owners who want to grow through acquisition or harvest wealth at time of retirement. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a law degree from the  University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. He is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator. Jim has a diverse professional background, having been a senior-level executive with two publicly-traded companies. He is also an entrepreneur, having bought a business out of bankruptcy that he turned around and later sold to a publicly-traded company. He formed Tennessee Valley Group in 2009 to help business owners in Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. Jim is a member and deacon at Brentwood Baptist Church. Married for 32 years, he and his wife Emily have three children and two grandchildren. He is an avid golfer and regular blogger on the topic of business succession.
